What a beatiful Island what a beautiful resort what a battered resort and so a unfriendly staff. Especially one guy serving the breakfast is extremly unfriednly :-(

The new bungalows are beautiful, but because poor maintenance already have serious problems in the broken shower baths, wood bungalows are old. The restaurant is poorly maintained with a poor service. The structure in general is nice but would need maintenance and care more efficient.

Candle Hut unfortunately due to lack of hospitality did not make me feel welcomed. I felt annoyed and uneasy with the staff. Lets not speak about the breakfast menu offered and to be classified as a resort. I have stayed at resorts paying less than at Candle Hut and received excellent service by staff. I felt more welcomed and was serviced with high class efficiency by the nearby resort to Candle Hut. I would not hesitate to recommend Dreamland. One thing that was a bonus was the beach. Beautiful and peaceful however very far from everything else. I hope that Candle Hut assess their staff and hope they improve as the tourist is investing money at their location. A smile and warm welcome is very important let alone all the what we pay for. I certainly won t be going back to Candle Hut Resort.

After reading some conflicting comments about Candle Hut, I was a bit worried about what it was going to be like when I stayed there.
During my stay the staff was very friendly and helpful in every way. They organized taxis and a boat transfer willingly and always with a smile.
The rooms were generally well maintained and comfortable but a few small repairs are needed to some of the rooms to justify the price.
The grounds were well groomed and the hammocks on the beach were divine.
I will most certainly be going back some day.

Very disappointed for the money spent - the resort appear that it used to be a nice place but has gone into dis-repair and no one cares. The staff appeared very unhappy and their actions (in the restaurant and caring for the property) reflected this. We moved after 2 nights to a place on the same beach for half the price and twice the value.

Was returned a message saying the bungalows (which I requested) were unavailable - and that I needed to book a villa (of course more expensive). However, during our stay I saw several people walking up and getting bungalows on the spot.

Honestly, I’ve stayed in 5 resorts during my stay in Thailand, and this place by far Is really the worst, and most disgraceful resort I’ve ever been to!
From the minute they put us in our room we needed to change the room 3 times!
The toilet didn’t work in the first room, in it was swarming in insect (mostly ants).
In the second room, the roof was leaking and also swarming in ants even inside the bed!
In the third room we got lizards, and ants of course, spider web right above the bed.
The bathroom has no ceiling, and the toilet has no privacy. In one of the rooms we’ve replaced, it had no light so I had to take A shower in total darkness.
The staff was not friendly at all, and each time we had a problem it seems that we are bothering them.
Eventually we stayed there for one night (the night we had to pay for) and left next morning very early.
The guy didn’t even asked us why, or try to be nice to us, he just said “OK bye”…
disgusting! Not recommended at all!!!

This area and resort in particular were great. The new Huts are amazing and great value. The pool is good, restaurant fine and some good nearby restaurants on the beach to eat a good meal at with views.

Hotel was lovely, we stayed in the beach front villa, which was really on the beach front.The food was lovely from the restaurant but the restaurent itself lacked the ambience. The location was good, its a quite beach with a laid back atmosphere.WE had 5 days here which i think 3 would have been enough.They picked us up from the pier and they were there waiting. The staff are really nice and welcoming. I would return to this hotel.

sadly i have to say that candle hut resort has a perfect location,high potential but as you know usually the staff and the people are the ones who makes your vacation a rememberd one - in our case we stayed in the resort for 14 nights and had some ifno to share :
1.as we arived to the resort no one were at the reception and no one helped us with our luggedge - we had to carry it by ourselfs,not so easy with a baby.
2.when we finaly met with one of the staff (the owners brother) he was extreamly unplesent and rude,the only thing that intrest him was our money while we jest wanted to seatle down in our room after a long way from israel.
3.we were forced to pay for crissmess dinner which we never attended as us jews dont celebrate crissmess.
4.the rooms are new but were never clean.we allways had to ask them to clean again and bring us more towels.
5.breakfest were poor
6.as the resort tend to be isolated taxies are hard to get,the resort takes atvantege of the setuation and charge 3-4 times more then true costs.
7.the owner gave us in more than 1 ocation folse and not true information that could assist us as turists,as we asked if there are any taxies in the main road - she told us we can only use the resort service.
8.owner brother was so rude we had to leave the resort several times and not spend time in the swimming pool or beach.
9.only after we came across him we went to the internet and found so many bad reveiws about him and about the owner-if we had known we never would have booked.
10.resturant food was good and fresh and prices were fare.
11.locatin and beach are beautifull.
12.unfreindly staff !!!!!
13.when we confranted the owner about our problems with her brother she said she knows all about it but cant fire him.
we will never go back to candle hut resort,we have traveled is thiland 9 times and went to so many resorts but never onece came across such a rude owner and staff - you as turist company should know it and let people know.
we have no complaints once or ever to sawadee.com ,our booking was fine.

Rooms very nice and big - but what i woud have expected for cost of room. Towels were small, with no small towel provided for washing hair. (seems maid forgot). The rest of the maid service was excellent. The breakfast was very nice and provided healthy options as well as the traditionally less healthy choices. The service was excellent, No was happy to book anything we needed taxi s or day trips. This is a very quiet resort, and not recommended if you are looking to meet other people or for a lively time. The beach is beautiful in this part of the island though and well worth seeing. The atmosphere in the restaurant/reception area was lacking, and a bit half hearted - they could do with a bit of nighttime activity, to bring guests together - perhaps a pool table, show a film or two in the bar area. The pool bar was not open at all. Also given the location on the island, be warned to expect a very bumpy taxi ride of about 45 minutes - eating before that ride is not recommended.....
